I just received my shirting from Fabric Mart that was on special for $1.99. I'm rather pleased. I still have wash it. Strong chemical smell. It's a cotton blend. I usually like 100% cotton but get tired of ironing it. It feels rather silky. Great price on regular $10.00 fabric. I'm not crazy about their shipping costs especially since I'm one state away but their sales are great.

that sounds like a great deal - I'm browsing around for shirting fabric right now. Will you let us know if the smell washes out? Thanks!

I bought several pieces of their shirting fabric while on sale for 1.99. I was very happy with it. After pre-washing there was no odor and no wrinkles. It is very good quality fabric and well worth the price.

yes odor washed out fine, a few wrinkles but I didn't dry it by itself. Can't beat $2 a yd.

[QUOTE]I'm not crazy about their shipping costs

I don't think $8 is unreasonable. Have you sent anything via UPS or USPS recently. A small box can easily go for $16 or more.
