Hey guys, I was really inspired by pp. 17/ fig. #4 of "Singer Instruction for Art Embroidery" that beauturbo recommended to me. So, I was able to locate a brilliant website selling modern replicas of Victorian lampshade frames, and I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a tutorial for drafting a pattern for the segments of the frames, as well as how one might attach the shade to the frame. Thanks!

I can't get this image to just appear, but if you right mouse click on it, and choose view image, I think it may just take you right there.

That one is pretty elaborate. I think the loose draping on it, is multiple circles of fabric maybe, attached loosely a bit off center and allowed to fall and drape.

I made one of these about 30 years ago. I placed a piece of paper over the form and drew my own pattern piece, adding a one-half inch seam allowance to each piece. It worked well to glue the segments to the form, instead of sew the seams. I then covered the ribs and the bottom of the shade with trim to cover the "seams" glued to the frame.
