I like to wear open-front jackets and vests. I'd like some suggestions for patterns. Size: 42 Bust. TIA!

I love to make vests and have some nice patterns. Will have to go look at my stash to find the pattern numbers.

Jacket patterns are not so easy. I do not look good in a boxy jacket (does anyone?) and have been searching for a good jacket pattern also. I have a really old Burda jacket pattern but it is too small and I would have to size it up at least 2 sizes. Might be a good project for the winter months.

I've been taking a Craftsy class "Sew Better, Sew Faster" with Janet Pray. Included is her Jacket Express Pattern. I love the look of the jacket (haven't started making mine yet).

Try pattern resellers for oop ones if you don't find a pattern you like. While they are not.99 they are not too bad price wise and you might have more choices. Vests come and go in popularity so you might find a lot more to choose from. I made the button front petite plus vest that is sort of tunic length and liked it but it is oop and for petites. I have seen others that look similar trolling the pattern resale sites. I like vests and over jackets also. I plan to try a kwik sew shirt pattern for a winter weight shirt to wear open over a tee with jeans. A tee is not my best look being busty but I can wear them layered under an open shirt in winter.i would get too hot in the house in the heavier shirt but I really enjoy wearing the heavier shirt as an open jacket for shopping and such.

I think it was Radar Radiance on here who turned a jean jacket pattern into a vest and it was very cute. She wore hers over an embroidered tee. Maybe a search would pull it up if you like that sort of thing.i
