The Mini-Wardrobe Contest entries are a little bit different than other contests because you are submitting an ensemble of outfits and not each garment. Here is a quick guide to help those new to this type of contest.

Quick Links:
Contest Report and Control Panel link -Includes the Rules, Dates, Voting Guidelines, and the buttons to Join and Add Your Final Entry.

Add a Review

Pinterest Board to display story board plans. You must sign up to 'Follow' the board and then Send a Message to Deepika to request that she adds your name for permission to Pin (add images). Do not be deterred by the terminology. It really is simple.

New to PR? -Read how to add and write a review.

New to PR Contests? Read the How to Participate in PR Contests tutorial.

Our introductory post to the contest has tips and links for help with images and photographs.

CONTEST PROCEDURE

1. JOIN THE CONTEST - Go to the Contest Report and Control Panel and click [Enter Contest] to add your name as a contestant. Do not worry about if you will finish or not. Your entry will not appear in the Voting at the end of the contest until you submit your Final Entry.

2. OPTION PINTEREST BOARD - Optional: Post an image of the garments in your wardrobe plan to the group Pinterest Board.

3. CUT AND SEW - On Sept 1, begin cutting and assembling your 4 garments.

4. REVIEW EACH GARMENT - As you finish each garment, Add a Review of each pattern. If you are using the same pattern for all your garments (a coordinate), you can do the single review and edit it each time you complete a garment. Do not link these reviews to the contest.

5. COMPOSITE REVIEW - When all 4 garments are complete, Add a Review for your 4 outfits -your wardrobe ensemble.

Pattern company: Select 'Other'
Pattern Number: 2013
Pattern Name: 2013: Mini-Wardrobe Contest
Include photo(s) of your required 4 different looks and links to your previous 4 individual garment/pattern reviews. This is referred to as your composite review.

You may start your Composite Review at any time and save it as a Work In Progress. Then, Edit the review to add the new information as you sew.

Once all your outfits and information is complete, Edit the review and click the box to Link This Review to the Contest. Or, you can link the review when you complete Step 6.

6. FINAL ENTRY - Go to the Contest Report and Control Panel and click [Enter Items]. You will be asked to select a Review. Select your composite review. This puts your entry in the list for the Voters.

In your Entry Notes, be sure to include what you want the Voters to know -first time techniques you used, new skills you tried.

HELP TO EDIT YOUR REVIEW
Repeat of post from the main Contest Discussion

==========================================
How can I find my reviews?
This is one of many ways to reach the page with your reviews list. PR Members have the link to My Pattern Reviews.

http://sewing.patternreview.com/members/(your PR Name)
http://sewing.patternreview.com/members/Ashford

Useful when you need the URL address (http...) or need to Edit any of your reviews.

I have already written my Composite Review. How can I edit it to add text, links, or photos?

Use the method above or go to the Contest Gallery and click on your Review.

Once it is open on the screen, look in the section with the pattern's name to find the EDIT button.

After the changes are completed, be sure to Save your review page.

How do I add the links from my individual Pattern Reviews into my Composite Review?

The final Box in the form, labelled as Review, where you add your description text, has a link above the text box that says Insert a clickable link in your review. A small box will pop up and ask for the URL to your link and after that the words for your link.

It may insert the new text at the very bottom of your paragraphs. You may need to copy and paste it to the location you want.

How do I change my Contest Entry to show my Composite Review?

Go to the Contest Report. You should see an Edit button next to your name.

A clear concise overview of how to do it!
May I add to please don't wait till the last minute to add the reviews. Add them as WIP's and edit them as you go seems to work for a lot of people.

The term WIP referred to by Connie means Work In Progress. You might want to 'Add a Review' now and then Edit the text or photos as you proceed.

There is an option when you save the Review to save it as a Work In Progress. When completed, you will need to Edit the Review and click the button to 'Publish' it.

Your composite review will only appear in the lists as a regular pattern review. When you are ready to add it as your Contest Entry for the Voting, you do the final step of the contest -go to the Contest Report; click [Add Item]; and select your Composite Review as your Entry.

Here is a WIP example from the 2008 contest.

Hi. I don't know how to go about asking Depeka for permission to use pinterest for my entries or I guess for my plan. Please advise. Thank you.

I have been a lurker for 2 years and a member for 2 years. One thing being Contest Manager has done for me is helped me figure out how to move about the web site. I still stay confused most of the time.

I found the link to Send a Message to Deepika.

Thank you Ashford. I went to Pinterest ( I'm a member but I don't do much there) and made up a plan but I don't like the way it works and at this point I don't want to try to figure it all out so I'm just going to do a Fotoflex collage of my final pieces.
I'm almost done and want to do the "photo shoot" this weekend so I can have everything in well ahead of time.
I need to learn more about the Pattern Reviews site and how it works so that's my next "new thing to learn"
Thank you for your help.

Good decision. Use your time for things that move you quickly towards your goal. You can always learn more about Pinterest at a later time.

Congratulations on almost being done. Let me know, if you have any problems with the reviews. I am ready to help.

I do have a quick question.
2 of my 4 garments are using patterns that I allready reviewed. Do I need to write completely new pattern reviews, or can I amend the prior review and link it to my composite review?

Sorry if this is the 45 time ou have been asked, the discussion length is daunting.

I agree. It is a time waster to search through all those pages for your answer to one question.

Yes. You can Edit your original review to add any text and the photo for your new contest garment.
