Hey to all of you out there who subscribe to Julie's Picks!

The time of year has come around where you can get the mailers for the end of 2013, plus all of 2014 for $50, with a $25 off coupon.

Like most of us, I have a fabric problem. My sewing eyes are way bigger than my sewing stomach. So, on that front, I think it would probably be a bad idea for me to join.

However, it would be great to be able to feel some of the fabrics before I buy, and I like that you get more special discounts as a member. I'm a big bargain shopper, so that's quite appealing.

So, Julie's Picks members, tell me:

1. Glad you joined? Why/why not?
2. Are the premium discounts really a lot better than those offered to everyone?

Thanks in advance!

You don't really get special discounts as a member. It just gives you access to the swatches. I like it because the prices are often very good for the quality, and even if that fabric shows up on their website in the regular section it is usually more expensive than when it was a Julie's Pick. I think $25/year is reasonable for the service.

The premium membership, which anyone gets when they buy more than $150 a year, is definitely worth it. I have gotten some amazing deals - like 50% off leather skins, big discounts on silks, etc - that are not available to the regular customers.

I think they changed the rules since last year. The Julie's Picks info page says that anyone who joins Julie's Picks also automatically becomes a premium member without having to place a $150 order.

It's good to know that is definitely worth it. Thinking I'm gonna join...

Thanks, Anne! :)

I subscribed for two years and had to give it up; mostly because I have too much fabric. The thing I liked the most was that you had offers that others who weren't Julie's Picks had. And the swatches--you are sent a bunch every so often and sometimes Julie (whom I've met) line draws a great little outfit suggestion for you. Enticing, enticing, enticing.

My suggestion would be to try it for a year. You can't lose for $25

I have a sizable stash already, and I am a member.

I try to keep it to the stuff from the mailer so I keep my fabric happy on and I keep out of the rest of the site. Most of the time there is nothing I want, but it's interesting to get. With the premium membership, $25 is worth it to get the premium member specials (which I DO use frequently) and fabric that I can look at.

My mom tends to grab it before I get it, so we have a day a month we immerse in sewing, so it's nice there too.

I love Julie's picks. The fabrics are a great price and most of the fabrics are not found in the regular fabric stores.

I like Julie's Picks and will sign up for 2014 too. I look forward to receiving the flyers as I become familiar with their fabric. I am working down my own stash but have taken advantage of the premium members sales several times throughout the year.

I did it!

Kwaaked - Good idea to just stick to the mailers! I'm not sure I'm that strong, though... ;)

I've ordered just over $225 in the last 12 months. Does that mean I'm a premium member?

For some reason, I thought $150 had to be one order. I'd love to be a Julie's Picks member and am glad to see this post.
