Ok, I'm not computer illiterate by any stretch of the imagination and I'm sorry, Deepika - I don't want this to come across as a rant, but I suspect it will be taken that way.

Adding/changing photos to reviews is by far the most convoluted, non-intuitive process I've come across in a while.
Not having to log in for every edit is a great update, because otherwise it just adds more frustration to what should be a simple function.

Adding links and images to the body of the review is clear but dealing with the project photo (or 3) is problematic.

Not sure why in the review body, you add pics from a hosting site and the project photos must come from your computer.

In recent message threads the term 'easy peasy' was used. Maybe, if you get it right the first time. But making changes ? Not so much.

I've just added a review. Prior to getting good pics on the model, I posted with the flat pics intending to update the review.

Today, I went into edit the review, changed the pics to the new ones and…nothing. All the visible pics are the old ones. If you click on them however, the new pics show up.

I went back in to try again. Decided to delete them all and start again. Tagged them all 'delete' and hit the 'Click Here' button up top - which says to 'update or delete photos'. Nope - that just cleared the check boxes.
Ah, you have to click 'Upload My Photos' to delete them (intuitive ?) which brings you out of that screen where you have to select 'the review you just posted' to try yet again.

ok, back in edit again, previous photo links are gone - 'publish to site', 'click here', choose new files and 'upload my photos' - again showing old photos.

After 3 or 4 more tries at it, the main photo finally shows the one I want. I have no idea which series of clicks finally did it. A half hour later, I still cannot get the other 2 photos to show my new pics.

In another earlier message, I saw someone tried to change which pic was the main one...

Quote:
You have to Edit the page, then click Save, without making changes, then you can click the Upload button and delete the pic you want deleted. I had to then save and go through the process a second time to add a new pic and have it "stick". It took me about 6 tries all together

I tried to follow this - but once you click edit the page, the only save at that point is in the Add Comment section at the bottom - at no point is there actually a Save button anywhere in the review process. Also, 6 attempts just to change the main pic ?!

My next possibility is to delete the review completely, start from scratch and hope it works. Is that really the only option left?

Claire, I am so sorry that this is such a pain. Do you think your browser could be caching the photos? Also, I posted a tutorial for making editing and adding photos on the boards. Does this help?

I hear you on the process but when a review has so much information it gets a little difficult to include yet another functionality with ease.

So perhaps the solution for photos update is when you click on edit review it should ask you, if you want to update the content or the photos. Maybe that would make it easier.

Thanks Deepika - I started with that thread - which is why I didn't want to come across as ranting - on the first pass through, it worked absolutely perfectly ! Exactly as your instructions showed.

My problems only started with the attempt to change the pics and what seems to be an unclear process (along with the fact that the pics didn't update).

It was a problem on both my computers, but let me clear the cache and see what happens.

For the ease of edit/update - well, once you click 'edit', you're already in the review so a request to edit content or pics is not a necessary choice.

Maybe at the project photo line, instead of stating that you can update photos in the next step, there could be a link 'update photos' - even if it takes you to the same place as the Publish to Site icon, it's quite a bit more intuitive as it assumes you are still making updates.

Also, linking the project photos and the body review photos from the same place would be a great help.

I know that any programming changes are a LOT of work on your part - so thanks !!!!

Thanks for understanding. The last thing I wanted was to make it more difficult. I'll test the edit process.

oh and I'm going to assume it was the cache but rather than doing one thing at a time, I cleared the cached, deleted the history and actually ended up having to do a full shutdown of the computer (unrelated to the cleanup ) before checking on my review.

so, my pics are all good - I easily added the other 2 I wanted and they both show up properly.
