Are the heads hand sewn to the bodies of these puppets? If so, any hints to how to sew so you don't see the thread? Any information would be helpful thanks!

There are several PR members who've made these hand puppets. Two said the head was difficult to sew to the body, but didn't say if they hand or machine sewed it. If it were me, I'd probably hand baste the head to the body, and then machine sew. Cute puppet pattern, BTW. Go over to the left side of the screen and type in 4209 in the search window. I tried typing in "Butterick 4209" and it came up with an error, so I just typed in the pattern number and was able to access the reviews, unfortunately, when I tried linking you, it came up with an error.

These puppets were very popular when I was a girl; it's cute to see that they've come back, as that was a verrrry long time ago. They were made out of fake fur and other fabrics. The heads are hand sewn, double thread.

thank you for your response. I did handsew the head; another question is that the pattern says sew on the wiggly eyes. I went to JoAnns and they didn't have wiggly eyes that you sew on, only sticky back. Where can you get wiggly eyes that you sew on?

Do you mean like this? Eyes If yes, well they're available at Amazon and should be available in any crafts department. I'm surprised JoAnn didn't have them. Try the crafts department at WalMart, KMart, Hobby Lobby, etc.

I found these sew-on wiggle eyes. Click here. Again, most craft departments should have them. Sorry that I linked you to the glue-on wiggle eyes at Amazon. They did carry the sew-ons, but they aren't currently available.

Edited for spelling.
