I have a Janome Horizon 7700, which I bought just a few years ago from one of the "reputable" dealers in the state. It's been a good machine, but unfortunately, the machine, the table, and the lift did not coincide perfectly. The machine was plugged in, I pressed the button to left the machine, and the narrow space was too narrow. The cord was jammed/sheared. My cord join at the machine is now "off" - I can't get the cord all the way in the machine - so the machine doesn't work.

No problem, I thought. Go back to the dealership. Take machine (which is a heavy sucker), just in case. Get new cord, test it, pay my stupid tax, and go away.

However, the dealer doesn't stock cords! They don't order cords either! This is a machine that is still being sold! This dealer has a service desk!

REALLY!!!!! I'm beyond irritated.

So, tomorrow I'm doing two things:
1) Try the cord from my Memory Craft 10001 on the Horizon. If it works, I know it's the cord. If it doesn't, I've confirmed to take the machine with me.
2) Find a different dealer, hopefully one who actually keeps supplies.

The Horizon is my 6th machine that I've purchased (two more belonged to my mom and grandmother). Over the years I've had to replace cords and foot cords and even belts. Dogs, cats, vacuumn cleaners, a brown out, loss due to moves - things do happen. A dealer not carry a power cord? Doesn't sound right to me!

They don't ORDER cords!?!

I can sort of understand not stocking cords (sort of), but refusing to ORDER one for you is...is...unbelievably baffling, to say the least.

I feel your frustration. I've given up on purchasing a lot of items (not only sewing) & have been happier dealing on-line.
Much more pleasant experience.

I'm pretty sure you can find that cord at a Radio Shack or Source Store. Save yourself the aggravation of waiting.

Why do you need to take the machine when all you need is the severed cord so the end that plugs into the machine is all that is needed for a match up?

If my dealer stocked cords based on my need it would be zero stock. However, if there is a need they would order.

time to get yourself a new dealer. cords can be had on line if a local dealer is unavailable.

Weird, my cords are the same on my laptop and for some of my sewing machines! Definitely look on line or find a new dealer!

My dog, when still a puppy, chewed up the cord for my brother (glad I unplug when not using) and I ordered one from Sewing Parts Online. Came quickly and works great and price was good. They said it happens more than one would imagine. Rather ridiculous that a dealer couldn't get one!

I suppose it's fair enough to not stock up on power cords in-store as it may take up valuable space however to not order power cords all together will pose as a problem for not only the dealer but most important their customers.

I will suggest (as many other including yourself) o find another dealer as this is unacceptable!
