Last year I bought (from a European site) a gorgeous (and quite expensive for what it is) cheesecloth-type top, similar to Vogue 1306.(I did try to post a photo but the link didn't work.)
It was an extravagant purchase but I fell for the heavy embroidery around the neckline.
Now my problem is what to put under it, as the fabric is almost as sheer as organza! Because the top is very long/hip length, it needs a long cami-style under-top (basically a short slip), but I can't tolerate polyester in our summers, when I'd be wearing this top, but anything in cotton will cling to the cheesecloth and look awful.
Does anyone have any clever ideas about what fabric I could use? I have already considered silk but it would be hard for me to source before Christmas here.TIA.

If the polyester only bothers you in summer, you could make one out of that now, and be waiting for your silk in the meantime! (One can never have too many camies.)

Thanks, Vonne! Just had the 'duh!' moment! I just could not think what to use. Rayon I can handle- now to find some in the right colour.....

I can not wear poly either, but I do have a stretchy nylon cami that quite comfortable in warm weather.

Perhaps it sounds a strange solution but for myself I choose a nude tint, and is really go to the shop and compare to my own skintone. I make wide shoulderstraps so that other straps are covered. I think that this is especially a good solution now that you have embroidery on your top.

Yes, I can see that working-similar to using skin toned knickers under white pants (have just bought my first pair, ever!). Thanks for the tip.
