I just purchased a Pfaff 1471 that is DOA. Does anyone know of an Honest Tech that Really Knows their stuff and can repair this machine at a reasonable price? I am in Lancaster County, Pa. .

Brubaker's. They are in PA. Worth going to them. People send them their classic Pfaffs from all over the country to have them serviced and or rebuilt.

I have no affiliation what-so-ever with them and have only bought bobbins and a few parts (Pfaff bobbin case for 1222E) online from them. But they have a stellar reputation and are good on the phone. Good service.

I third Brubaker, excellent service. And if your machine is not fixable they may buy it off you for parts. (No affiliation here either, just a happy customer).
