I made my daughter a dress yesterday. Not just any dress.. It was my first attempt! And I only made one little mistake (i forgot to tuck part of the hem in - I would go back and unpick it and sew it in properly but I am actually okay with it!

I just can't believe I did it! It was so daunting to even consider sewing a dress and it's a pretty basic dress but I am feeling pretty proud of my efforts anyway :)

I would add a photo though not sure if/how I can do that without adding a URL address?

I even made my first button holes (only using zigzag'ing lol) for the buttons on the neck straps!

My daughter has been asking for me to make her a dress since I got my sewing machine for Christmas so I did a search on the patterns here and bought this pattern when I saw it. I loved how it was simple and looked easy lol Something I could accomplish as a beginner!

I was so surprised at how easy it all fit together though. I left a review on the pattern for others to read - Hopefully it will help other beginners to not feel so scared too :)

Love it......

That your daughter is happy.
That you are happy.
That the dress turned out so nicely.
And that you want to share your enthusiasm and encourage others.

Thank you for spreading your happiness, caught it all the way up here.

How lovely and she sure can strike a pose You are braver than I am. I've been sewing for almost 40 years and still have trouble attaching that type of neckline yoke to the body of the dress,
