Does anyone have any recommendations for flattering evening dress patterns which might suit? I am size 20ish + a 4" fba - would like something with draping or ruching which won't take me too long to make... Preferably something covering arms and floor length. I have a few patterns but they all either require boning and strapless undergarments, are awkward to adjust in the bust or just have no shape whatsoever and will do nothing for me...
Any ideas gratefully received!

Wrap-bodice dresses flatter most figures and give you a waist.
You can double the bodice fronts for support, even add a
solid color under a subdued print to peak out. Patterns with a
closed skirt work better as you're not concerned about sitting down.
Think Vogue 8822, you can add to neckline for more modesty.

Since there aren't all that many evening dress patterns around I'd look at knee length patterns too and lengthen it to floor length. I need a cocktail dress and have a similar issue and I am looking at a blouse pattern from Marfy

I've seen this Coni Crawford dress pattern made up in a variety of ways, and I've always thought it was flattering. It OOP in Butterick, but still available through them or on Coni's website.

There are a couple on burda that might suit:

burda - cocktail dress

I think this one has a lovely 50's vibe

burda - dress and coat

I love this one, and will make it for myself one day

burda - long empire dress

This one looks like a VIP! Not floor length, but might be doable.

You have gotten some fine ideas here. I'm tossing this one in as well: Butterick 5981

I think there are several Kaliah Ali patterns that would work for this. I made this tunic top. It can be made floor length and has some of the details you mentioned.

Burda has some new ones, one of them is 6946. It's a wrap dress with sleeves. I haven't tried it, just thought it looked good.

I am here to support you and watching for suggestions. I have a wedding this spring and need to start thinking about a dress. I will say that some of the suggestions have that gathered bust and I think they look bad on a large busted woman. And sleeves, Yes a must. At this point I liked the neckline of the QuickSew.
