The UK production company have put out a call for those interested in The Sewing Bee. There are more details on Peter's blog Sewing Bee info

and a link to a video about the 'online revolution' caused by the Great British Sewing Bee

Wouldn't it be great if the US version was nearly the same as the British version? By this I mean no back stabbing, no squabbling, etc. Just an enjoyable show to watch and learn from.

I really enjoy quilting. I love to play with fabrics, colors and pictures. I recently discovered how much fun applique can be. As I love making pictures, landscape quilting can be challenging, but seeing the picture come to life is so rewarding.

Thank you for the link to the GBSB - all others I've tried made a mess of my computer. So far, yours is doing fine!

My understanding is that initially they're casting the pilot. If the pilot is picked up by a network, they envision a format where, rather than having the same group compete every week with one person eliminated each time, there will be new contestants (4 if I remember correctly) each hour-long episode.

That allows for more opportunities for people to be involved.

Peter, thanks for clarifying this and it's interesting that they want to change the format so much!

So what other reality-type show out there has the cast change out every episode?!?!?

Sounds like a ratings-killer for sure.

My granddaughter & I watch Project Runway (which, of course, keeps things pretty weird and contentious) ... but it is fun watching the next episode to see people returning.

Watching the cast change out is about as much fun as catching just one episode out of a series...(didn't we just learn that with the two episodes that the BBC was so *kind* to let everyone watch?) ... ugh... it's not nearly as interesting as a series.

While it allows more people to be involved, it does not sound like as much fun to me. I prefer to stick to the original format and not mess up a good thing.
