I am so excited to share this with you. Love Productions Inc. - The Parent company of the show which is producing The Great British Sewing Bee in the UK is now producing a similar show in the United States. YAY!

They are working hard to make this happen and they contacted me to help them spread the word. We have so many talented PR members, heck we could even hope for a 100% PR Show

Only Caveat? For the pilot they are only asking New York and New Jersey/Connecticut area people to apply. Here are the details.

PDF Version Here

They are hoping to shoot the Pilot on April 14th so send in your applications now.

One of the things which will be different in the US version will be that each episode will have different people. I think that's a good thing. Don't you?

That's cool. I hope it makes it to air.

But I don't agree that having different people each week is better. Nearly all reality (competition) shows follow contestants on their "journey" - and as much as I hate the cliche, I do like seeing how people grow/get new ideas.

The exceptions are the "wars" shows (cupcake war, craft war, cake war, etc.) where we have 3 in the first challenge, then 2 in the bigger challenge. And I don't find those shows as fun/interesting.

I will be watching for it! How fun! However I don't agree that it should have different people each week! The fun of the British version has been to watch the same people. Their skills develop, and being able to hope certain contestants win. If it's different every week, I probably won't watch….

I've looked around on the internet... I can't seem to find a place to watch the shows. I'd like to see the full first season of this.

Right now they're just looking for applicants. I doubt we'll see anything before next year. I don't like the idea of different contestants each week either. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what develops.

Sounds like they are starting small to flesh out their concept. Having different people each week in a competition- to me - makes no sense whatsoever. I don't see the concept "selling" because one reason we watch Project Runway or GBSB is to have a favorite to root for and a not so favorite to critique.

I wonder if MA is in the Tri-state area??

I am happy to see this happening in the U.S., but I'm not excited about the idea of new contestants for each episode. I like watching each contestant develop through the season. Maybe someone else will jump on the idea of a more traditional (what we are used to seeing) sewing competition or maybe these producers will change their plans. I hope they do.
