Sorry to start, yet another declutter thread, but Spring is on the way, and I can't find the thread I started a few years back.

In my inbox, from Oprah magazine, quite possibly the best collection of declutter tips in one place. I think I liked it because it speaks to me, since I am finding myself in a constant state of decluttering, partially due to death in the family and my fabric habit. Also, they have tapped not one declutter specialist but bring different points of view to the topic.

Declutter Tips

Enjoy!

I've been cleaning out the garage. Decided to sell a sewing machine, my Singer 15. Found lots of fabric to sell at my ASG fabric sale, and some for Ebay. Also sent some to the Goodwill. It's harder than it sounds, lol

Several good ideas here-thanks for sharing this! I noticed the Oprah magazine with "decluttering" on the cover but was too cheap to buy it. Now I have the benefit of the info without the clutter of another magazine in the house. Win-win! Another benefit of Pattern Review!

A job half done isn't finished..... will be etched on my tombstone.

I consider myself a declutter expert I've been doing it for years now, that will be the t-shirt I'll be wearing when they bury me.

Loti, I really appreciated that article; thanks! So many decluttering articles/websites/proponents get SO MILITANT, as if you're not allowed to have one book on your coffee table, and you must strip down your entire existence to only the most bare minimum, and anything beyond one change of clothes and a bedroll makes you a hoarder... This was all very realistic and refreshing for those of us who like our stuff, but just have too much of it! I also really liked the "Spring Cleaning in 8 Hours" piece linked at the end--especially the final step: "Order pizza for dinner." LOL
