The British news sources are saying that she was 6 million dollars in debt, and that her designer business was failing. Of course, she had also been with Jagger for ten years and was approaching 50 years of age. No future in that, even though he's 70.

She came from humble beginnings, was adopted with her brother by a Mormon family in a tiny community in Utah. When she was 12 years old, she was 6 ft tall! This forced her to go to thrift stores for vintage clothes and refashion them.

She will always be an inspiration to me because she was a hard-working, talented and independent woman. I think she was very proud and perhaps did not want to ask her over-the-top wealthy boyfriend for money.

I have a feeling she was the love of his life and things may never be the same for him again. To say I feel sorry for Mick Jagger probably seems silly but I do.

Now, every angel in heaven is wearing L'Wren Scott. What a sight it must be. Godspeed L'Wren.

Not to be disparaging, but by chance I ended up on Mick Jagger's facebook page to see that tribute he wrote. I looked at his timeline - it was the first picture of her he ever posted. There was one picture from last September of one of her dresses on the Runway with his comments about how he liked the dress. Most all his facebook pictures are of him alone with a few with his band. I don't doubt they were a couple, but maybe not as close as some.

It seems that Designers don't have careers as long these days
as those of years back, think of the old Vogue with people like Diane V. Perhaps it's some of the reality designer shows who give their winners 15 min. of fame, youth fashion being so fleeting, "classics" aren't everywhere and clothing has gotten so casual? And some of the old guys always trading in, like used cars.....

I am so sorry the world has lost her and that she felt this was what she needed to do. Losing someone to suicide is a terrible shock and loss no matter who you are. It is horrifying and even more painful when people want to know the details. Please do not judge.

As far as Facebook - Mr Jagger and Ms Scott may have felt their private lives were private.

My condolences to Mr Jagger and all of her friends and family. The world has lost of wonderful talent.

I wasn't judging, just observing. I know little about either of these two people. I'm sure there are people here, myself included, who have had friends or acquaintances take this troubling route, and losing someone to suicide is a very sad event.
