Recently I discovered cell phone wallets and was simply blown away by the whole idea! (Where have I been you might ask?)
I bought one from eBay but dislike a couple of the features. So I looked for tutorials and found quite a few. Here is one I especially like, except that I want it as a wristlet. I made a prototype yesterday and cut out 3 more to mess around with. Today I'll pick up some grommets to add the wristlet feature. Has anyone else made/bought one of these they absolutely love?

I've got one of the Vera Bradley wristlets with a space for my iphone and I have just about worn that thing out. I've thought about trying to make a copy of one, as the cost was just ridiculous for this little thing (bought it in one of the Vera Bradley stores down in Florida). I'll be watching with interest!

I sold two very gently used Vera Bradley wristlets that had a place for an iPhone for a fraction of what I paid retail (on eBay).

I'm just saying you may want to check out eBay ... many sellers offer a money back guarantee if you aren't happy. Both sellers gave me great feedback so it's not just my opinion! There were many for sale when I listed mine so I'm sure you can find a great looking one at any given time.

Sewing a wallet could be fun too!

Gosh, yes, I love making stuff like that. Bags and accessories of any kind are my favorite things to sew. I recently made an iPad sleeve of my own design which is HERE

The iPhone wallet you linked to is really cute, but I'm not sure I'm crazy about the ruffle just because it seems a little bulky. I'd rather it be sleek. Its a cute design element for a different kind of bag, though.

The fun thing about these accessories is that you can get really creative with odds and ends of cute fabrics, trims and notions. And if it isn't quite right, you can make another one and tweak it a little bit (like the person who designed this iPhone wallet said on her blog.)

The feature I like best about this wallet is that you can use the phone/camera without removing it. I used quilting cotton on mine and the ruffle isn't bulky at all. The one I ordered from eBay had the wrist strap attached to the end near the bottom of the credit card sleeve. Bad design because that allowed cards to fall out!! Also, there was no place for cash.
I'll post pictures of my next one so you can see the difference fabric choice makes.

I can't remember the seller's name, but there's someone on Craftsy who has patterns to knock off the Vera Bradley wristlet version.

I need to look again at the Vera Bradley. For some reason, I thought it didn't have the cutout for being able to use the camera. This is one of my favorite features in a phone wallet/wristlet.

At dinner with friends Thursday, both got really excited about my little creation! They have vinyl (faux leather) ones that don't wear very well (vinyl cracks, etc.). And, you guessed it, they asked me to make them one! Good thing they are my besties, right?

I am also on this quest. Sport and entertainment events here have banned purses so I need a wristlet wallet/phone holder. Really, they did me a favor. I always kick myself for bringing a purse and this is the incentive to get an alternative. Purses on floors - ick.

I bought This Pattern on Craftsy and am now customizing it. I like the zip around 3 sides feature. Also want inside pockets for cash, Id and a zipper pocket for some change. And of course, the phone. I eliminated the trifold part and am now working to downsize it to fit my phone. 9x5 is a bit larger than I want.

Still questing for the perfect cell phone wallet

Is this the etsy seller mentioned above? It looks like it does have a window.

ETA: Oh... you were talking about the camera cutout, not the window... D'oh!

I'm finishing my fourth one. Still revising. As soon as life slows down, I'll describe some of my trials and errors...with pictures.
