Or - how would I change the pattern?

If you are only just out of range of the Burda you can grade up the pattern, two sizes would be do-able.

It's a cute dress, but I haven't seen anything like it. If you found something with the curved side panels you could slash and spread to add the gathering, and tilt the pattern off the fold line to create the angled pleat at the centre front.

Edited because I posted by accident, halfway through writing this...

That's a beautiful tunic! I can see why you would want to have it in your closet!

The RTW garment is sold out- so you *have* to make your own!

Here is the link to all the RTW views

The pattern you referenced from Burda might be a good start for you.

???? What do you mean though when you say it might be "out of your range"?

Burda Pattern

Here is my rendering of the inspiration garment to give you an idea of what the style lines are for you to pattern hack with your Burda tunic base.

I LOVE that! It initially reminded me of this OOP Vogue, despite the bodice differences... well, actually a lot of differences. This dress has pockets, so I'm wondering if you could use the side panel sans the pocket overlay. I have this pattern, so I'll have a look tonight.

ETA: maybe this with the other Burda above? It's from 2006, though...

Thanks all!! It is the neckline I'm really after - I found something at Lekala Patterns that could work. It was for a knit, which I find to fit too tightly if make with real measurements from Lekala. So I increased everything 10cm and will try that.

Great! Which Lekala pattern did you land on? With their prices being so incredibly low, it's so affordable to experiment with several styles and fits!
