Holiday/gift sewing 2005 October, November, December 2005

Here are the rules: 1. Enter items sewn between the dates of the contest (Oct-Dec 2005) 2. Enter only those items sewn as gifts for others. 3. You can enter apparel or craft items as long as you SEW them. 4. The winners will be decided based on the combination of number of items sewn as well as the yardage used, just to be fair to everyone. Does anyone use stencils in decorating their clothing or accessories?? I have some Diane Ericson's stencils and have drooled over the Jan Dressler stuff on the internet. Do you have ideas for using these creatively? I have used a border around a boring blanket...rolled it on with contrast color...loved it...also a table runner for the dining room. I am mystified as to clothing...not wanting it to look too cutsie, but a little artie. Please help! Thanks...Dixie in Florida

Also, what about doing a set of pillowcases with stenciling on the edges of the pillowcases? I had a great pattern find from SewThankful that shows how to use your stash up for pillowcase making. They turned out great.... Drat. Wish my camera was working. ------ Judy

And the rules doesn't say that it have to be for the holidays... what do you guys think?
