Bust Adjustments
Instructor: Sarah Veblen

Bust Adjustments
FULL BUST ADJUSTMENTS AND SMALL BUST ADJUSTMENTS

All commercial patterns are developed for a specific figure type, which is often idealized or standardized. People, however, come in all shapes and sizes. And most sewers will tell you that their figure doesn't correspond to patterns.

Most commercial patterns are developed for a bust with a B cup. If your bust size is larger or smaller than a B cup, it's probable that you will need to alter your pattern to reflect your bust size. If this is your situation, making a full bust adjustment (FBA) or a small bust adjustment (SBA) to the pattern puts you one step closer to getting a pattern that fits.

In this 7-lesson class (with PDFs and Videos included), you will learn the concepts of making a FBA and SBA, as well as how to actually make the pattern manipulation for side bust darts, armscye princess lines, shoulder princess lines, and bodices with raglan sleeves. Several variations of the traditional FBA/SBA are included. In addition, one lesson will cover the basic patternmaking practices of truing dart legs, walking seams, and making parallel darts.

Note: If you want to practice these patternmaking skills on small scale patterns, downloads will be available for bodice fronts with (1) darts, (2) shoulder princess line, (3) armscye princess line, and (4) raglan sleeve.

Skill Level: This class is for sewers of all skill levels.

And don't forget, even after the class is over, you'll have access to all of the Videos and the PDFs forever so you can refer to them whenever you want.

Class is a combination of PDF downloads, boards and Interactive real time chat sessions with the instructors. Video is included in this class!
