Patternmaking is a skill which will increase your sewing possibilities. Whether your desire is to draft patterns from scratch, adapt existing patterns, or simply to understand how a pattern works, Basic Patternmaking will guide you toward success. This three week class will deal with not only the basic skills needed for drafting your own patterns from a basic sloper, but will also help you to make changes in patterns you already own.
Join us as we explore the following:
- dart rotation
- neckline variations
- adding and subtracting fullness
- sleeve changes
- details
- adding closures
and - much more!
Note: We will not be drafting slopers, but will be making patternmaking changes to slopers, basic fitting shells, or existing sewing patterns.
Skills required: Basic knowledge of how to sew garments using patterns will be helpful. Advanced beginners will benefit from this class. Class is a combination of PDF downloads, Q&A boards and Interactive real time chat sessions with the instructors. |
