Discuss Sewing Machines with PR members Sewing Machine Forum | | What nestle likes about this machine I am so impressed with this machine. I paid for it in August and had to wait until January to get it; in the interim I thought about all the other things I could do with the money and almost called it off. My dealer would have refunded the full amount. I'm glad I didn't but I'm still amazed I own an embroidery machine at all; it was purely an impulse purchase and I wasn't sure I'd actually use it, never having consciously wanted one. At any rate, it's lovely. I'm starting to think of ways to use it more every day, and my husband likes it a lot.
Today I dropped something on it and stopped and turned off the machine, undid the hoop, fixed it and started again on the second screen (color 2). I forgot that I'd raised the design 3 steps so the next part was out of whack but I'm still practicing so I waited until color 3 to move the design back again. It went back to the first position and unless you know and really study the design, you would think the color 2 offset was intentional. Wow! I am using thread that's 20 years old, Madeira rayon, and have had only one break. I made another goof and successfully took out the thread and embroidered over it. You can't tell. A couple of months ago I was afraid that the only way I'd ever have good-looking buttonholes was to embroider them; I was joking but I think it would work on this machine. Everything works, quietly and smoothly. I've never trusted a machine so much but I also know I'll never buy another sewing machine without a dealer behind it. The past couple of months have been nerve-wracking waiting for this machine and working things out with a Bernina 1530 off eBay.
No one else has mentioned this but there's an indent on the top, kind of like a tray, and I keep an extra bobbin there and when I get klutzy changing the thread, it always falls in that indent. I love it, I think every machine should have one just like it!
I've used all the stabilizers and they've all worked perfectly; I embroidered a teddy bear on fleece and dragons on thin cotton with hoops that should have been made tighter and needles that were a little beyond their life span and nothing's gone wrong. It's a great introduction to embroidery. It's the first machine I've never once forgotten to cover and say good night to!
What nestle does not like about this machine This is the only thing I've found and I have been busy with it! I don't like the colors on the locomotive. I'm kidding, there's nothing I don't like about this machine! | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. Hmmm. If the locomotive you mention is a design, just change the colors to those you prefer. Glad you are happy with your machine.

I owned the Deco 340 for awhile and it's a great little embroidery machine. It's almost identical to the Janome 350E, but I liked the matte finish on the Deco better and I loved the scissors holder.

Dump the old thread. It will cause problems
