Tell us about your first impression when you used this machine.
I really like this machine it sews well and the embroidery stitch out is trouble free. This machine is the same as the SE400 it was just branded with the project runway logo and they included a rolling case to pack it in.
Was the machine manual sufficient?
All of the literature included is very easy to follow and there is a built in tutorial on the machine.
Did you buy any accessories? Do you use them?
I bought 2 extra size hoops that can be utilized on this machine although the stitching field is limited to 4X4
Is this your primary machine?
For embroidery yes for sewing no but I plan to take it with me when I travel in the fall.
Did you take any classes specifically for this machine?
I did not take any classes but watched a couple of youtube videos by Vince Acri and they were very useful
Was this a gift/pre-owned/garage sale etc?
I bought a refurbished one off of Amazon
How often do you use it?
At least 2-4 times a week
Would you recommend this machine to others?
This is a nifty little embroidery machine it does not come with design software but if you have a design that is in the PES language and will fit a 4X4 field you can send it from you laptop to the machine via usb cable and there is memory in this machine. I am finding it to be so trouble free. There is also a slot for embroidery cards which you can buy from brother but I think these are optional.
There are build in fonts and some really cute designs I have enjoyed playing around with them. For the money this is a sweet machine. If I decide I need a bigger stitch out area I will probably go with the Brother machines again.
Have you had any trouble with this machine? Please elaborate.
NONE NONE NONE
Do you do regular maintenance on this machine? How?
I have cleaned out the bobbin and it was a cinch to do
