How does the star Rating system work?

The PatternReview Rating system is based on three factors.

  1. How many helpful/very helpful ratings you have on your reviews.
  2. How many members have you in their favorites list.
  3. And finally, How many reviews you have written
You earn star when others rate reviews written by you. The more helpful reviews you write the more points you get which counts towards your final star rating. This rating carries throughout the site on all your reviews.

Yeah Yeah Yeah... but how do you determine who gets how many stars?

Disclaimer: If reading this logic, gives you a terrible headache, I am not responsible ;-)
So, by now you already know what contributes to the rating. Here's how its calculated.

1. Rating from total reviews (tips also included) written on the site
1 - 25 0.25
26 - 50 0.5
51 - 75 0.75
76 - 100 1
101 - 125 1.25
126 - 150 1.5
151 - 175 1.75
> 175 2

2. Rating from Total number of people who favor you
1 - 10 0.2
11-20 0.4
21-30 0.6
31-40 0.8
41-50 1
51-60 1.2
61-70 1.4
71-80 1.6
81-90 1.8
>90 2

3. 25% (sum of average rating on all your reviews)
Very Helpful 2
Helpful 1

Off Topic -1
And then:
Sum of all three above / 3 is your final rating.
Finally:
Stars based on rating:
0.3 - 0.5 star
0.6 - 0.7 star star
0.8 - 1 star star star
1.1 - 1.5 star star star star
> 1.5 star star star star star

Ratings are updated every Monday Morning
Example: MemberA has written 5 reviews and is favored by 12 people. 2 out of those 5 reviews has 2 helpful and 2 very helpful ratings and 1 review has 5 very helpful ratings. So...
Rating from number of reviews written = 0.25
Rating from number of people who favor MemberA = 0.4
Rating from average of ratings on MemberA's reviews = 25% (1) = .25
Adding all these up and dividing by 3 gives us 0.3 which means that MemberA gets one star.
