Tracings - Skirts

Even though I am not a typical "girlie girl", there are times when all I want is girlie outfits. And what's more girlie than a skirt? If you thought skirts were only for summer, think again. They look super cute paired with fun tights and boots for winter. Throw on a moto leather jacket and you'll have a look which will turn heads.

Another reason I love making skirts is because they use up relatively less fabric so I can splurge on a special piece and create a one of a kind garment. Another bonus, they are quick to sew.

It wouldn't be a Tracings newsletter if I didn't follow it up with some cute patterns for you to sew. Me? I've already assembled MariaDenmark's new Pleated Skirt pattern in a special fabric which I'll reveal when I write the review :)

Happy Tracing!

SkirtsArticleSkirts - So Trendy!

Skirts are so hot right now, and we're in luck, because so many designers are releasing new and creative patterns for them. And PR members are adapting and re-interpreting them for their very own.

Let's talk about a few of the styles you'll see in the world of skirts.

The Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt is so popular right now. It's

come and gone over the years, but it's currently on everyone's list.

New Look 6230 makes a great pencil skirt. Worn 1" below the waist, it has a side zipper and is just below knee length.

MariaDenmarkNew! From Maria Denmark

Maria Denmark has given us so many great patterns, like the Kirsten Kimono Tee, the Day-to-Night Drape Top, the Birgitte Basic Tee, the Laura Lounge Pants and more.

Now comes a new addition to Maria Denmark catalog, the Paula Pleat Skirt Downloadable Pattern!

This twirly, feminine and downright fabulous skirt will become an important part of your wardrobe.

It's so versatile! Make it in plain fabric or prints, twill, cotton, leather (I can just picture it in black!), denim or even pinstriped wool to wear in all seasons.
The Paula Pleat Skirt looks great with the Birgitte Basic Tee, the Just a Tank Top and any other top you have in your closet.
