I finally tackled a project in Pattern Magic 3! I chose project #1, which illustrates the principles behind the pattern draft by transforming a regular top first. In the spirit of the Refashion Contest, that's exactly what I did.

Full-skirted retro dress with princess seaming, bias side panel, pockets, neckline/sleeve variations. I chose to make view B, which is sleeveless with a high neckline.

As with almost every top I've ever made, I used Lydia as my basis. In this case, I used a size 34 pattern chopped off at the waist line and at 4 inches below the armpit. The suede is appliquéd on, not pieced.
