This is another winner from Louise Cuttting. If I am ever in a sewing slump, I go to her patterns, and I can be fairly certain of a successful project.

I have made only the skirt so far in this new NY/NY pattern. I wouldn't buy the pattern for just the skirt since it's a basic, bias-cut A-line, but it is a nicely drafted one. The skirt has an elastic waistband. What really appeal to me in this pattern are the tops; I want to make them all!

I have been sewing shells from this pattern for at least six years. I think I need to go to my closet and pull out what must be dozens of them. This is a wardrobe pattern--pants, skirt, two tops. Sandra Betzina recommends the pattern as a travel wardrobe if the four pieces coordinate.
