Stay stitch curved hems first
Curved hems are difficult to turn up and press as they are wider at the edge where the stitching will go.
Mark the fold line with chalk or similar.
Sew a stay stitch line approx 2mm below the line, within the hem. Steam iron the hem in place so that the stay stitching falls just into the hem.
