This 401 portable showed up at the garage sale of a tailor and sewing instructor who was retiring. It had inventory numbers engraved in the cam port area from the school where she taught. Although (and because) I already have a Singer 306W, I couldn't resist the 306K I found on Craigslist last week for $25. A grubby machine in a grubby blond cabinet, I tried to bicker, but the seller wouldn't budge, claiming that several other people had called about it.
