For a fun little project to do with my 6 year old daughter, we made a jacket for her Maplelea doll Brianne. This is an 18" doll.
I used another doll coat to make a rough pattern, then altered it to fit this doll better. Made the jacket narrower, with longer sleeves and a longer length.

I made this coat for my DD's 5th birthday. I used the "Jacket with zipper, hood and ribbing waistband" from the Kwik Sew Children's book as my starting point. I used a lambs wool type fun fur for the outside, and a thin green polarfleece that is knit on one side for the lining.
