To release the threads and free up my fabric from under the pressure foot, here's what I did that worked;
I lift the foot to it's highest position by turning the handwell (right side) forward.
I use the lever to lift the pressure foot.

Pattern Description:
Loose-fitting coat with cut-on sleeves, knee-length or full-length, with shawl collar and optional belt. I made the long version and the belt. I made this a couple years ago for my Sister In Law who is a plus sized woman.
