Use old can-cans for mermaid tail dress
I am performing onstage in an early 1900s (My Fair Lady-esque) outfit, and it's supposed to have a mermaid-type tail. Clear tape for holding down trim

Cleaning thread fuzz from a sewing machine
If you sew lots of different fabrics, you may end up with high- or low-pile fuzzy fabrics that leave nasty fluffy buildup inside the workings of your sewing machine.
