Renaissance period flat cap made from a cotton duck(ish?) home dec fabric my friend bought, matches his doublet I made earlier this spring (doublet review here).

View C sunhat, with a few tweaks. Updated pic with first custom hatband. :)
Tweak #1 - I used buckram instead of interfacing. When I ran out of buckram and Hancock was also out, I used 14 count Aida cloth (cross-stitch fabric) which isn't as firm as buckram but still holds its shape.

I read the previous reviews of this pattern, and most had unflattering things to say about the instructions. Since I consider those sheets of steps to be more like suggestions, and don't need much excuse to ignore or modify ... I decided to see if the darted classic tunic was drafted well or not.
