Pattern Review 7/24/14 12:10 PM
Simplicity - 1636 dress
Pattern Description: Super inexpensive pattern ($0.97 at Wal-Mart) for a sleeveless summer dress. Pattern Sizing: 10-18. I cut a 10 for the bodice, waist, and upper hips, grading to a 14 at the hips. I also cut a 12 for the shoulder since I have a square shoulder. Should have probably done a pr... more...

I only purchased the 6-14 package so I made the size 14, even though my hips measure closer to a 16. I would say there is some ease here. :) I... more...

Vogue Patterns - 8850 c. 1975 Misses Wrap Dress in 3 Lengths
UPDATE 6/6/14: I wore the dress yesterday for my daughter's kindergarten graduation. It was very comfortable, and I just love how free the skirt feels in the summer wind. (Although even with its length, I still had to catch it so people wouldn't see my slip, lol.) I really wish I had shortened th... more...

About Me

I have always loved clothing and fashion, even as a little girl. Many of my female relatives sewed, but I only was taught a bit here and there, with cross-stitching as my main joy. As I got older,... more
