Viking - Platinum 750 This is a upgrade for me from the Freesia 425 which I really liked but wanted more buttonhole options. I got this machine on ebay, usually they are areound $1500.00 MSRP.
This machine is very well made, much sturdier than the 425. ( they both have the same great stitch quality)

Pfaff - 130 I got it off ebay for $150.00 and took it to my trusty mechanic. For another $100.00 I got it re wired, new light and overhauled. This is a gem of a machine. You can convert it to for industrial or hand crank use. Making it a winner with Sail Makers

Other - Stronger reading glasses I recently got some rimless reading glasses at Nordstrom in 2.0 strength. I had some rimmed ones in 1.0 & 1.5 but I did not like seeing the rims in my view.

Viking - 425 You can sew without much thinking.
Great for top stitching for the needle position adjusts easily.
It has just enough decorative & utility stitches.
