This might be a three-star store by cosmopolitan standards, but there are so few places in this area to buy fabric and sewing supplies, that I confidently give it four stars for being a cut above, and quite surprising in its depth of fabric selection.

Finishing this contest entry on time turned out to be a family effort. As usual, all photos of me by my 9-yr-old daughter. My 11-yr-old son walked me through making my first composite photo in Paint. And my husband patiently smiled through a number of very late dinners.

I made this dress for my daughter to wear the first time I took her to the opera. (We saw Donizetti's Don Pasquale at the Washington National Opera in DC last month.)
She wore view A, the boatneck version with the flounce.
