The pattern is strictly for knits. I used an interlock "ottoman" knit...black with shiny silver threads throughout. It is a beautiful piece of fabric.

I really do like this dress...trouble is I made it toooo large for me and more importantly, i made a huge mistake on the sleeves, had not more of the same fabric left so I bought some silk dupioni the shade of the "crinkle metalic rumba" from which the dress was made.
