I use a square of old jeans fabric to put under a presser foot when I am sliding it under to snap it on, or taking one off. I was looking for a machine for free motion quilting and clothing construction that didn't cost more than my car. I was not looking for embroidery capabilites. This machine appears to be identical to the JANOME NEW HOME MX 3123 as well.
