We all crave easy to sew, stylish tops. And we want them to be as versatile as we are. We also want a variety of sizes and we want to be able to add our own twists to them when the mood strikes. And most importantly we want them to fit!
If this is what you have been craving, check out the Best Patterns of 2008. The top 10 patterns we loved last year are classics yet trendy. And if you've never tried sewing with knits, I am convinced after reading this, you'll no longer be able to resist the temptation. So what are you waiting for?

| Meet the Winners of Endless Combinations | By Deepika on 1/23/09 6:46 PM |
We came up with the name Endless Combinations several years ago when we ran our first ever wardrobe contest. As the name suggests, the wardrobe can be endless. You start with one piece and continue to build as you go. The coolest thing is that you don't need a plan! And that's what makes it so fun and so casual. There is an element of surprise in here which we all love so much.
So who won?
Lets meet the winners.
Say hello to our FIRST PRIZE Winner HLT. This is her 4th win in the year 2008!

SECOND PRIZE Em's Summer for sewing the most number of garments for her wardrobe. She made 39 pieces!
Our Endless Combination Prizes were sponsored by Fashionista Fabrics
Many thanks to PR member boppingbeth for Managing Endless Combinations.

| Friendship Quilt News | By Deepika on 1/22/09 6:01 PM |
I've posted photos of all the blocks I've received so far. I'll go to the post office on Friday to get the rest of the blocks and I think we should be ready to assemble this pretty quickly after that.

I love the little notes you all are sending with your blocks. I'd been thinking aobut how to incorporate the notes (some notes convey a story about the block) with the quilt and I've decided that I am going to make a scrapbook with the quilt. In the scrapbook, each block will be photocopied and included along with the notes sent by the sender. The scrapbook will have the blocks in the order they are placed in the quilt. The book will be presented at the PR Weekend Portland along with the quilt.
Oh this is turning out to be such a fulfilling project!

New Techniques Contest is like no other. In this contest, whether or not you win the prize, even if you attempted a new technique and you are a WINNER!
In this year's New Technique Contest we chose a panel of judges who very patiently looked at each and every entry and after a tough week picked the winner of the New Techniques Contest.
Birdie Wins this contest for her V-Neck entry. If you read her review, you'll see why. She is an inspiration for the rest of us. Well done Birdie and thanks for making us a part of your learning process.

Congratulations for winning the contest!
I'd like to thank the judges lilyofthevalley, HLT and PhyllisC
Thanks to PR member NancyK for managing this contest and to Fabric Fairy for sponsoring it. |
