| PatternReview Limericks | By Deepika on 3/20/09 1:49 PM |
There once was a girl with a stash
Who decided to sell them for cash
So she sorted huge piles
Into colors and styles
Till they crushed her to death when they crashed
* * *
Any woman can dress like the Queen
In Versace, Chanel, Geoffrey Beene
All it takes is a zipper
And a little thread snipper
And a ten thousand dollar machine
* * *
An eager young seamstress so pert
Decided to sew talk and flirt
With her customer's son
Well, they had so much fun
She stitched his sleeve to her skirt.
* * *
A beginner was trying to steam
Her pants with the crookedest seam
But what caused her such pain
Were the leg so off-grain
When she wore them, she wanted to scream
* * *
A young man who once joined PR
Thought his sewing was not up to par
So he trekked from Topeka
To meet up with Deepika
And begged her to give him a star
* * *
A young sewist with nothing to wear
Planned her wardrobe with style, taste and flair
But her new Sapphire Viking
Was not to her liking
So she said she would simply go bare
- By nancy2001
I once had a Pfaff that just died,
So I sat in floor and just cried.
Then I picked up my azz,
Bought a Viking Topaz,
DH got the bill, but just sighed.
* * *
The shears that don't "pink" made me shutter,
The seams would tatter and flutter.
At 50 percent
Off to Hancock's I went
And bought a Olfa Rotary Cutter.

While sewing a beautiful dress
I saw that I made such a mess!
My dining room space
Was such a disgrace
I came to PR to confess.
* * *
When I first came to Pattern Review
As a sewer, I wasn't so new.
But I learned so much stuff -
FBA's and hip "fluff."
That my knowledge and stash grew and grew!
* * *
With pattern and needle and pin
I just don't know where to begin!
Check out FFRP
And soon I will see
That my fitting woes aren't such a sin.
Then I'll head to PR for a sec.
Check the forums and, hey! What the heck?
The gallery, too
There might be a review
Of this pattern - it might be a wreck!
So this is now how I must sew.
And I thought that I USED to be slow!
So many resources...
I could take some courses?
Oh, where did my sewing time go?
But my coffee and PR go well.
To my project I say, "What the h@ll?"
Its all for the best.
I don't wanna be stressed.
Creativity should not be quelled.
You'd think that I soon would be sated
With limericks sewing related.
I could write a lot more
And PR folk, I'd bore
So I'll get out before I am hated!
* * *
With my beautiful serger by White
My sewing should be quite a sight.
But to get the thing threaded's
A chore I have dreaded.
So I think there's no serging tonight!
- By tourist
My sewing room's my favorite place
filled with fabric and patterns and lace
I stay there for days
to my family's dismay
Til they drag me out screaming in disgrace
* * *
My dress just needed its zipper
I knew it would make me look hipper
in my rush to complete it
I sewed it on crooked
so I had to pull out the seam ripper
- By Kellie R.
Needing to regroup and divert
Pattern shopping surely couldn’t hurt
My thoughts all a flutter
Who cares about the clutter
Cutting and stitching I cannot avert!!
