|Chat with Designer Angela Wolf on Custom Couture and Dyeing Fabrics, Wednesday, January 12th at 9 PM Eastern Time (6 Pacific, 7 Mountain, 8 Central)!
Join us on Wednesday, January 12th at 9 PM EST for a chat with designer Angela Wolf on "Custom Couture and Dyeing Fabrics".
Fashion and sewing have been Angela’s passion since childhood.
“I used to sneak fabric out of my mother’s closet," Angela says. "But I was too young to understand patterns. So I would lie on the fabric, have my younger sisters draw an outline of my body with chalk onto the fabric, and then my creations would begin. I am happy to say my designing has come a long way since then.”
In 1994, with a bachelor's degree in business management from Illinois State University and a brand new sewing machine and serger as a graduation gift from her family, Angela started ABO APPAREL, offering custom apparel, alterations, and wardrobe planning.
An A-list clientele has given Angela more than sixteen years of experience dressing and fitting many diverse women and has enabled her to understand the different styles that compliment each individual woman. All these factors are taken into consideration for each piece that Angela designs for each individual client.
Impeccably tailored jackets with beautiful silk, hand-dyed charmeuse linings are a signature of Angela's work. Many of Angela's designs also include intricate hand-beading and custom trims. Styles range from Casual Resort Wear to Extravagant Evening Wear, always enhancing every woman that wears Angela's apparel.
Angela Wolf Ready-to-Wear was launched in 2010. Combining luxurious fabrics with a casual lifestyle was the main theme in creating this line and so far has been met with rave reviews from her clientele. Angela has since expanded her atelier to a 4,000 square-foot studio/showroom which is located in the heart of the Arts District of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Professional tournament fishing has also inspired Angela to create a women’s sportswear line of apparel that will launch in the late spring of 2011.
Angela was a finalist in the 2009 Threads magazine Fluid Fabric Challenge and has appeared on the cover of the American Sewing Expo magazine. She was the winner of the Passion for Fashion Challenge at the 2008 American Sewing Expo. Her submission for the Passion for Fashion Challenge at the 2007 American Sewing Expo was selected the Audience Favorite.
View Angela's collection on her website, www.angelawolf.com, and visit her new blog, angelawolf.wordpress.com/, featuring fashion and sewing tips.
The chat is open to all Friends of PR members. Chat instructions will be posted on the PR home page on Wednesday morning.
