Day 3 of PR Weekend Chicago
After the whirlwind of Days 1 and 2, we needed a little break. But after coffee and breakfast, the excitement continued!
We all headed over to Fishman's Fabrics for a Very Special Event!
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Sheila Simon presented us with a proclamation honoring PatternReview for its 10th Anniversary.

Chicago Sun finally covered it :)
Lt. Governor Simon is an avid sewer herself. She made the jacket she was wearing, as well as the outfit she wore to her inauguration.
We presented Lt. Governor Simon with an honorary membership to PatternReview and a copy of 1,000 Clever Sewing Shortcuts & Tips. Perhaps if the Lt. Governor gets a break from her duties, she can write a pattern review for PR!
We spent some time shopping for fabric (of course!). And we posed for final pictures before saying our goodbyes.

The shirt that Lt. Gov. Simon's husband (Perry) is wearing was also made by Sheila. Normally, Perry picks his own shirts, but Sheila requested him to wear this one today because she knew that only a group of sewists would appreciate the pattern matching. He has two chest pockets on the shirt...can't even see it, can you? :) Perry picks his own fabrics. I thought it was adorable that he was chomping more at the bit to go fabric shopping almost more than Sheila.

I just want to say again how much fun PR Weekend Chicago was and that it was so nice to meet so many of you. And Bravo! again to the organizers. You all worked so hard and made it such a fun, wonderful weekend.
