These are wrap pants that are stitched only at the inseams and crotch seams. The backs and fronts have extended side panels that overlap and the pant ties on.

Highly Recommend Here's a pattern for a very easy wrap pant. No zipper, no buttons, no elastic, just ties to the front and to the back.
Pattern Sizing:

This pattern is for a semi-fitted wrap pant. The pants have no side seams as the legs are extra wide. To wear the pant, you have to wrap the front legs around to the back and secure with ties and then wrap the back legs around to the front and tie.

Highly Recommend I gave in and took a break from halloween costumes to make this pair of pants. These pants are wrap around pants. They tie in the back, then around the front.
