Textile Studio Sewing Pattern Basic Top # 1201
|
One of our best sellers, this pull-over top is a classic wardrobe basic. With two bodice lengths and 3 sleeve options, long, short & cap, you can create anything from tee shirts to elegant lace tops.
Suggested Fabric:For best results use soft drapey fabrics. Rayon, knits, silk and soft wools. Allow extra fabric to match plaids or stripes, for shrinkage if pre-washing and for lengthening.
Notions:1 pair shoulder pads (shoulder 5/8" height, depth 3 1/2" and length 6"). Velcro for shoulder pad attachment.

Pattern Description: Tops for woven fabrics with sleeve variations. I made View C with short sleeves.

Pattern Description: This is called a "basic top", and really couldn't get more basic. It has two bodice lengths and three sleeve lengths.
Pattern Sizing: It is mulit-sized, from 34 to 44 inch bust.

Summary of the versions made, for the "one pattern, multiple looks" contest (June & July 2007):
Version 1: wearable muslin from a cheap rayon
Version 2: from light microfiber. Forward shoulder adjustment, shortened, larger neck opening, neck gathering
