Recommend, with Modifications
The pattern includes a piece (#3) which is never mentioned in the directions other than in the fabric layout.
Having sewed many things before I figured out what it was for and where it should go. It is a facing extension that overlaps behind the front panel with the buttonholes.

Easy & Great for Beginners
Pattern Description: Semi-fitted mandarin style top or duster has collar, front extension, and side slits. Sleeve options are: long, above elbow, and sleeveless. Button and loops or frogs are used for closures. The pants have a waistband, darts, and back zipper.
