Textile Studio Sewing Pattern Mandarin Shirt Jacket # 1213
|
Semi-fitted shirt jacket with shaped mandarin collar, self-faced 5 button closure, with subtle side shaping and shoulder pads. Two sleeve options: 3/4 quarter length and a short sleeve with a cuff (please see line drawing).
Suggested Fabric: View A & B: Light to medium weight linen, cotton, rayon, silk and wool. Allow extra fabric for shrinkage, lengthening or for matching plaids.
Notions: Interfacing: 1/4 yard appropriate to weight of fabric. Buttons: 5 size 1/2²-5/8². Shoulder Pads: (Optional) 1 pair 5/8² high. Allow 1/8 yd in addition to recommended yardage.

Great Wardrobe Builder
Design Inspiration: I absolutely love all the lace in Prada's Fall 08 collection, and I wanted to make a short jacket out of lace like this one.
Fabric Used: A heavy black textured lace. I'm not exactly sure of the fiber content but it pressed well like cotton. The Prada lace is cotton.
