I ended up making these in a really nice rayon/lycra ponte weight fabric for work. I just upsized them so they weren't looking as yoga-ish and they are a comfy pair of pants that I can wear to work. ETA: Redo to fix comfort issues.
-Added a crotch gusset running laterally from inseam to inseam. This completely fixed the wedgie problem. I made the pattern piece by copying from RTW workout capris using Press n' Seal.

Recommend, with Modifications
Pattern Description: Yoga shorts and pants that are fitted through hips and thighs and slightly flared from the knee down.
Pattern Sizing: little girls size 2 up to plus size womens size 22. I used a W, according to my waist measurement. My hips are actually a bit smaller than pattern states.
