Textile Studio Sewing Pattern Florence Jacket # 1303
|
This unlined, no-dart jacket is great for career dressing. Pattern includes to bodice lengths, easy set-in sleeves, an effortless faux lapel with side seams moved 1 1/2" to the back for a slimming silhouette. Sewing time 2 hours.
Suggested Fabric:Soft rayons, wools, silks, linen, velvet, velveteen. Allow extra fabric for plaids or stripes, for shrinkage if prewashing, and for lengthening.
Notions:One 1 1/4" button. One pair shoulder pads (5/8" high, 3 1/2" deep, 6" wide). Velcro for shoulder pad attachment. Optional: 1/2 yard soft fusible interfacing.

Highly Recommend
Pattern Description: Continuing with my quest to explore patterns outside of the Big Four, I tried the Florence Jacket. It is an unlined, collarless, but not lapelless jacket in two lengths. I made the shorter length.

Pattern Description: Unlined, unconstructed shawl collar jacket with lapel detail
Pattern Sizing: xxs to xxl. My bust really measures more for an xxs, but that sounded too small. I went up to an xs, and I am glad I did. It is certainly not extra roomy acros the shoulders in the back.

Highly Recommend
I was ready to replace my black 'wear-in-an-air-conditioned-building' summer jacket and this pattern caught my eye. Short and simple, it looked like a perfect complement to sleeveless shells and mock turtlenecks. I made the short version (view A); there are separate pattern pieces for each length.
