This book is a MUST HAVE. This book covers the principles involved in acheiving a great fit and the photographs are bright, clear and actually helpful.
The principles are the key thing, because if you read this book and understand the principles you can fit any type of garment. I have several books that address fitting and pattern work and this one is the most useful and educational by FAR!
She addresses the Fitting Axis, Horizontal Balance line, the relationship between fitting and patterns and even how to fit on yourself and/or others. Using rulers, walking and truing a pattern, moving darts and seams, and also what order to efficiently work in.
I like the way she even goes into psychology, in a sense, by addressing practical ways to make the person you are fitting feel comfortable and therefore hold a better posture while you fit them.
Having read the entire book twice, I feel I can confidently take on any of these challenges. I love the no-nonsense approach in Sarah's style.
There is also accessiblilty in the form of her being an instructor on pattern review. How often can we directly interact with an author like that?!
It's just fabulous and I highly *emphatically* recommend this book!

Cracked my copy open this am... the photographs are superbly done.. really illustrate what is being communicated. AND they are plentiful. This looks to be the fitting book of the decade, if not the next two decades...
Bought this as soon as it was out and have not been disappointed. Thanks, Terri, for the review and thank you to Sarah for sharing your fitting wisdom in such an accessible fashion.
