Pattern Description: sheath dress with empire seams

Pattern Sizing: lots of modifications available

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes -so far as a muslin goes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked all the options on offer. I bought this pattern because as a beginner, I was hoping to find a combo that would fit me without modifications - but the large shoulders mean that it doesn't fit.

Fabric Used:50 p charity shop length & pins @ back for the muslin.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I may return to this pattern, but at the moment it is beyond my skills to alter. The top shoulder area is huge and needs serious fitting.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? It's worth a look - I think it could be a lovely basic sheath dress

Conclusion: Huge shoulders and high bust area.

Your pattern started too big! Use the high bust measturement for the bust to get the right shoulders neck fit. As a "chestie and fluffy" woman I have found that if you use that no. in place of the bust measurement, it's easier to add up below the chest that to alter the neck, shoulder armseye. Try these patterns in a smaller size and see what happens to the fit. I think it's a possible winner (but not in plaid LOL)

Perhaps the photo isn't showing it but I really don't think this is large in the shoulder area - at least not from the photo. You may find adding sleeves makes a difference? Thanks for sharing your efforts and welcome to PR.

Thank you for your review! I have some of these Amazing Fit patterns in my stash, and I too struggle with major alterations. Reading your reviews (all 3) about your muslins, along with the comments has been very helpful!
